Next to bows, I love knives. Good knives. Over the years I have accumulated quite a few. Last summer I had Mike Repke of Black Forest Blades make me a small drop point skinner. It fits my hand like a surgeon's scalpel; is just as handy, and as sharp. I have worked on 5 deer this fall, and of all my knives, the little Black Forest blade worked the best for me. I skinned and quartered one deer, and the blade would still shave the hair on my arm. When it does need a touch up, just a few strokes on a steel will bring the edge back.
I was so excited about my discovery, that I called Mike and told him, I wanted to share this knife with my many faithful customers. I contracted him to make a LIMITED number of these knives with the name "SHREW" etched on the blade.
The specifications on the Shrew Skinner are: 3 inch, full tang, hollow ground blade of 440-C stainless. Stag handle with a finger groove for better control. Over all length is about 7 inches.
Whether your skinning a mouse, a moose, or anything in between, this is all the knife you will need.
It comes with a replacement guarantee against material defects, registration card, and a certificate of origin signed by the maker, Mike Repke, Black Forest Blades, Bay City Michigan.
This is a wonderful companion piece to go with your Shrew bow, and a great gift idea.
